MoistureShield recently unveiled its latest composite innovation, MoistureShield Cladding, which features the company’s Vision and Meridian capped composite decking lines. The proprietary Solid Core manufacturing process protects the wood plastic composite cladding from moisture absorption, warping, rotting, and damage from insects on all four sides, says the maker, and  is available in a wide selection of colors including Smokey Gray, Spanish Leather, Cold Brew, Mochaccino, Cathedral Stone, and Sandstone, as well as true wood-grain finishes in Citadel, Shoreside (shown above, main image) and Mariner.

Westlake Royal Building Products recently added a new 5/8-inch Lap Siding to its TruExterior poly-ash siding line. The poly-ash material mimics real cedar and mixes polymers and fly ash for increased dimensional stability as well as resistance to warping, cracking, and splitting. Westlake’s Lap Siding comes in 16-foot lengths and can be painted any color with no sealing required.

Designed to create a clean look and to make siding installation more efficient, LP SmartSide ExpertFinish J-Blocks and Mini-Splits provide more options for engineered wood trim and siding projects, the manufacturer says. When installing siding, they can be mounted around lighting, faucets, and other fixtures for a clean finish. Available pre-primed or pre-finished from a curated collection of colors.

Evolve Stone’s newest Mortarless Series was the most recent recipient of NAHB’s Most Innovative Building Material at the 2022 International Builders’ Show. The cladding requires no mortar and no hardware and can be face nailed or installed using a standard finish nailer, the company says. The Mortarless Series is lightweight for easy installation and comes in five patterns and four colors.
